RAISING FUNDS SO NO CHILD IS LEFT INSIDE
New Mexico State Parks Foundation Hosts Gala to Support Critical Program
ALBUQUERQUE – There’s little argument environmental education is the critical key needed to turning around childhood obesity and society’s growing lack of knowledge about our natural world. The New Mexico State Parks system is aware of the crisis and is working to build their “Outdoor Classroom” concept into New Mexico’s leading environmental education solution. The “Outdoor Classroom” is a critical component of the “No Child Left Inside” initiative, a program designed to connect children to nature through various educational programs statewide. New Mexico State Parks biggest hurdle is a gross lack of funding for the program.
